Internet Marketing - Project Preparation
Since I charge by the hour, the more work you do the cheaper your project will turn out.
But I am an avid writer and video creator, so don't by shy about utilizing what I do best.
I can just look over your website and adversiting material, interview you about the finer details about what your company does, and come up with a complete marketing plan - including articles, video, and press releases.
Or you can get me started with text you've written and I can take it from there.
I consider my skill in editing as one of my best qualities.
Depending on how much work you're willing to do, keep in mind a couple of concepts as we proceed:
-
Writing a movie script is a lot different than writing an article.
You will generally say in one video sentence what it takes an article paragraph to convey.
Let the images tell your story, with the voice narrative maintaining the framework and establishing the key points.
-
An effective video is more artistic than technical.
Crafting an animated video section for just 1 paragraph of script often takes 4 hours or more.
There's the time it takes to create the concept of what the video chapter will do, and some experiments go badly.
There's the selection of the video's images, and you may never find the exact picture that you're looking for (a hand waving a wand over a pile of money ...).
-
If you want to craft some of the video chapters yourself - great.
If you can find high quality images, doubly great (they don't have to be large).
Doing this will also ensure that the video is what you want since you chose much of what it does.
But it takes longer than you think.
Keep in mind that I can get tricky with animation, but I'll have a difficult time with that one crazy effect you're dying for me to accomplish
(turning a picture of a lizard into a dinosaur that walks across your screen and starts eating things).
I'm not LucasArts.
-
I am artistic, but I'm not an artist.
Pretty much everything I've created started from somewhere else - either an image library, CD art, photograph ...
I'm fond of taking a perfect picture and adding something to it.
I've made somewhat of a living from this.
But I'm not good at creating something from scratch.
